Why it matters
Privacy is control over your own data.
The right to decide what information about yourself you share, and with whom. Curtains on your windows are a normal part of a home, not a sign of a secret. Online, a VPN plays the same role.
How it works
What happens when you connect
01
Traffic is encrypted on your device
Before it leaves for the network, your data is wrapped in an encrypted WireGuard tunnel. Your ISP sees only an encrypted stream.
02
The stream goes through our server
Websites see the Untraced server’s IP, not yours. Your real location and identity stay hidden.
03
Metadata is kept to a minimum
Traffic obfuscation and multihop make analysis hard even for someone watching the whole line.
A VPN protects against
- your ISP tracking the sites you visit
- identification by IP address
- regional restrictions on services
- interception on open Wi-Fi networks
A VPN does not replace
- common sense and password hygiene
- protection against malware
- privacy of accounts you are logged into
- anti-fingerprinting in your browser
We are honest: a VPN is an important layer of privacy, but not an “invisibility button”. The best protection is a combination of tools and habits.
